Michael Philion hails from the Adirondack community of Glens Falls in upstate New York. He was born there in 1952, the oldest of eight children. After attending college at SUNY Binghamton where he lettered in wrestling and majored in German, he married and began a career in international medical device marketing.
In 1996 Michael transitioned from world business traveler to German teacher, his chosen profession to this day. At that time he began to write fiction and was drawn to the field of pre-Contact Eastern Woodlands civilzations, the many dozens of Indian tribes who lived there and their sacred game of baggattaway, which would eventually become lacrosse. Baggattaway is his first novel.
Michael and his wife Kathy have three grown children. The couple reside in Nashua, New Hampshire.
